About
Marcus R. McCoy is the owner and perfumer behind the brand. He dedicated years to studying the magic of scent, beginning with an apprenticeship to a South American shaman, learning how plants speak through their scent. He further studied distillation and alchemical origins of perfuming, believing it to be a high art where each piece is unique and interwoven with something beyond the physical. The brand is named after Orpheus, the progenitor of the Orphic mysteries, a legendary musician, poet, and prophet who wrote hymns to Greek gods, concluding with the burning of sacred incense—incense that forms the base of many of his perfumes.
