Honey
Honey in perfumery is a complex and multifaceted note, rarely a simple sugary sweetness. It can range from the light, airy, and floral sweetness of acacia or orange blossom honey to the deep, dark, waxy, and even slightly animalic or urinous facets of buckwheat or honeycomb absolute. Its texture is often perceived as rich, viscous, and golden. Intensity varies greatly depending on the source and concentration, from a subtle, warm hum to a powerfully cloying presence. It typically evolves from a brighter, sometimes slightly sharp opening into a deeper, warmer, and more tenacious heart or base note. Projection is often moderate to strong, and longevity is excellent, acting as a natural fixative.
