Palmarosa

The note unfolds with a captivating duality, initially presenting a fresh, green, and slightly herbaceous opening, akin to freshly cut grass on a warm morning. This verdant introduction quickly softens into a distinctive rosy heart, yet it is not the plush, powdery damask rose, nor the jammy centifolia. Instead, it offers a brighter, drier, and more transparent rose facet, often described as a 'geranium rose' or a 'lemongrass-rose.' There's an underlying clean, almost citrusy brightness, a whisper of lemon verbena that keeps it from becoming heavy. Its texture is smooth, almost dewy, rather than oily or waxy. The intensity is moderate, projecting gently but persistently as a true heart note, offering good longevity on the skin. It evolves from a sharper green opening to a soft, floral-herbal warmth, retaining its freshness throughout its journey before eventually settling into a subtly clean, slightly woody-sweet whisper on the dry down.
