Tubéreuse

The note of tubéreuse is an olfactory paradox: at once creamy and green, intensely floral and subtly animalic, opulent and almost unsettlingly carnal. It opens with an initial bright, verdant burst, reminiscent of a stem freshly snapped, carrying a cool, camphoraceous clarity. This quickly yields to its iconic, heady heart – a rich, almost syrupy white floral sweetness that can evoke facets of grape, bubblegum, and coconut milk, creating an almost lactonic creaminess. Beneath this captivating sweetness, an undeniable indolic quality emerges; a ripe, fleshy, sometimes rubbery undertone that borders on the animalic or even fecal, giving it a profound depth and a slightly dangerous edge. Its projection is typically enormous, radiating an assertive, almost narcotic presence, and its longevity is exceptional, lingering on the skin for many hours as it slowly softens into a more velvety, musky floral warmth. It behaves predominantly as a powerful heart note, often extending its influence well into the base.
