Nosie

Peat

Peat presents a complex olfactory profile, primarily characterized by intense smokiness intertwined with deep, damp earthiness. It can range from sharp, phenolic, and medicinal, reminiscent of Lapsang Souchong tea or Islay whisky, to soft, mossy, and rooty like freshly turned soil after rain. The texture feels dense, heavy, and grounding. Its intensity is typically high, demanding careful use in composition. As a note, it behaves predominantly as a base or a heavy heart note, evolving from its initial sharp, smoky impact to a lingering, damp, earthy resonance. Projection can be significant, and its longevity is excellent, anchoring other notes.
